The Kitemark is a voluntary certification scheme. It is only available from BSI and our impartiality and independence help uphold its core values of quality, safety and trust.
Step 1: To achieve Kitemark certification, protective barrier systems manufacturers are required to submit balustrade samples intended for certification to an independent laboratory for testing.
Step 2: In addition to this, the quality of the materials used is monitored regularly, along with quality control processes and production management systems that are used by the manufacturer, as well as their suppliers.
If these fail to be met, a Kitemark license could be taken away from the manufacturer.
This is one of the reasons why the BSI Kitemark has been considered one of the most robust marks of trust for over a century. Today it continues to be relevant to both consumers and businesses from across the globe. It helps protect consumers and helps them to make more informed product choices, and it helps businesses reduce their risk and enhance their reputation. So when integrity matters most, trust the BSI Kitemark.
