David is responsible for BSIs Digital Trust Assurance solutions: training, testing, assessing and certifying for Digital Governance and Risk Management, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Digital Supply Chain, Data Stewardship and Artificial Intelligence. He supports BSIs clients across the key sectors of Built Environment, Healthcare, Food, Mobility, ICT, Energy and Manufacturing in the safe and effective adoption of disruptive digital technologies.

Tim McGarr is the AI Market Development Lead at BSI Regulatory Services, responsible for investigating new AI markets and delivering new AI services. Prior to this, Tim was the Sector Lead for the Digital area within Knowledge Solutions in BSI.  Tim had specific responsibility for the direction and development of key digital standards areas, including Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security.

Tim has been working at BSI since 2009. Prior to BSI, Tim spent 5 years working in the legal publisher LexisNexis in the strategy department.  Before this, Tim he worked as a management consultant for Logica (now CGI) and an internal consultant for BT.  Tim has an MBA from HEC in Paris, France. 

As an AI Technical Specialist Team Manager at BSI, he is responsible for staying current with AI standards and rigorously assessing the accuracy and regulatory compliance of AI models. He holds master’s degrees in business information technology and Artificial Intelligence, bringing over a quarter-century of global business and technology experience to the role.

Before joining BSI, he acted as a trusted advisor, guiding organizations through the complex journey of artificial intelligence adoption—from data exploration and AI/ML use case development to design, proof of concept, and the successful integration of MLOps. He has led the development and deployment of innovative AI models and directed high-performing data science teams worldwide.

Daniela joined BSI in 2017 as Technical Specialist, Scheme Manager and Clinical Team Lead in the Active Medical Devices Team and is currently Regulatory Lead Artificial Intelligence (AI), responsible for AI regulatory strategy, policies, procedures and accreditation/designation as a Conformity Assessment Body and Notified Body. Her main role is to establish and maintain compliance to regulatory requirements in terms of organizational, quality management processes and resources, supporting Operations in the certification activities and training program.

Daniela holds Bachelors and Masters in Biomedical Engineering, a Masters in Health Technology Assessment and has over 17 years’ experience in medical devices, including AI software, having worked in technology development, technology transfer, patents, testing, clinical studies and as medical device lead auditor/national expert for the Italian Ministry of Health in the European Commission working groups and Joint Assessments. She is a former IEEE member actively participating to the CEN-CENELEC Joint Technical Committee 21 on Artificial Intelligence.
