Susan Taylor Martin joined the Board and was appointed Chief Executive in January 2021. Susan has led a range of information, publishing and software businesses, first at Reuters and then at Thomson Reuters. Most recently, as President of its Global Legal Business based in New York, she led the transformation of its online information service into an AI-enabled suite of digital and SaaS offerings. She has experience of the consumer, leisure and hospitality sector having been a Non-Executive Director of Whitbread PLC. She also possesses a strong network across a wide range of businesses, as former Chair of the London Council of the Confederation of British Industry.

Scott Steedman CBE FREng
Director-General Standards and Executive Director
Scott joined in January 2012 and was appointed to the Board in October 2012. An engineer by profession, he started his career as a Fellow and Lecturer at the University of Cambridge before moving to industry where he spent over 20 years as a consultant working in the Built Environment sector. He was a Non-Executive Board Member of the Port of London Authority from 2009 to 2015 and served as Vice-President (Policy) for the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) from 2013 to 2017 and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) from 2017 to 2021.

Pietro Foschi
Group Assurance Director
Pietro Foschi is in charge of the BSI Assurance Services, including Management System Certification, Product Certification and Training global businesses, operating in over 190 countries. He joined BSI in 2014 as Strategic Delivery Director, responsible for the BSI’s strategic plan and the development of the global Systems Certification & Training streams. Before joining BSI, Pietro spent 14 years at Bureau Veritas in senior strategic and international operational roles. Prior to that he worked at Oliver Wyman, formerly Mercer Management Consulting, becoming a partner in their Paris office.
Dr Manuela Gazzard
Group Director Regulatory Services
Manuela Gazzard werd in juli 2018 benoemd tot Group Director Regulatory Services, nadat ze in april 2017 bij BSI kwam werken om haar strategie voor de gezondheidszorgsector te leiden als Managing Director Healthcare. In haar huidige rol is Manuela verantwoordelijk voor het leiden van de sector medische hulpmiddelen, waaronder de beoordeling van medische hulpmiddelen, fabrikantenaudits en zowel de Britse als de Nederlandse aangemelde instanties.
Ze heeft meer dan twintig jaar leiderschapservaring in de wereldwijde life sciences sector, waaronder farmaceutica, medische hulpmiddelen, biotech en andere gerelateerde gebieden. Haar eerdere functies omvatten Managing Director, NovaPrep en Lab Services bij Novacyt; Group Commercial Director, Johnson Matthey/Macfarlan Smith; en Director posities bij Johnson & Johnson/Janssen en Boehringer Ingelheim. Voordat Manuela aan haar carrière in de industrie begon, werkte ze internationaal aan kankeronderzoek. Ze is gepromoveerd in Natuurwetenschappen (Natuurkunde en Scheikunde) aan de Universiteit van Stuttgart en behaalde een graad in Business aan de Universiteit van Kaapstad.
Harold Pradal
Chief Commercial Officer
Harold was appointed in February 2019, having been leading P&Ls and growth initiatives across various geographies and business units for the previous two decades, at country and regional levels. Harold started his career in sales and marketing with GE Healthcare, before joining International SOS where he undertook a variety of senior leadership roles, including Regional Managing Director for Asia. Harold brings deep experience of the Asia Pacific region alongside his sales, marketing and commercial leadership expertise.
