PSCIは、製薬会社の大手21社により2006年に設立された非営利の組織で、責任あるサプライチェーン管理のためのPSCI原則を作成し、倫理、労働、環境保護、安全衛生、マネジメントシステムの5項目を対象にサプライヤー監査プログラムや能力構築プログラムを展開しています。

製薬会社は、より持続可能なサプライチェーンの構築という課題に取り組んでおり、製薬業界がサプライヤーや委託製造業者とどのように連携し、監視し改善していくかに重点を置いています。業界全体にわたって、ESG（環境 、社会、ガバナンス ）マネジメントは、サプライチェーン内で最大のリスクにさらされる可能性があると認識され、理解されています。

BSIは、もともとPSCIに認定された監査機関のひとつであり、PSCIの要求事項や監査手法のさらなる発展を、PSCIプログラム自体とともにサポートしてきました。
製薬業界では、サプライヤー全体の環境・衛生・安全 (EHS：Environmental Health and Safety) と労働リスクを評価・監視する主要な仕組みとして、PSCIとその監査テンプレートを採用する傾向が見られます。組織は、様々な形でPSCIプログラムを採用しており、BSIは業界と協力し、原則の適用を確実にすると同時に、敏捷性を維持し、サプライチェーンのEHS・労働監査を実施するための顧客別のアプローチに取り組んでいます。

Within the pharma industry, there’s been a trend in the adoption of the PSCI and its audit template, as the primary mechanism to assess and monitor environmental health and safety (EHS) and labour risks across their supplier base. Organizations are adopting the PSCI program in various guises and we’re working with the industry to ensure the adoption of the principles, while remaining agile and enabling a bespoke client-specific approach to deliver an EHS and labour audit on the supply chain.
