BSI launches professional certification training on privacy and information security

    August 11, 2020

BSI, the business improvement company, has announced the launch of new professional certification training courses to assist cybersecurity, IT audit, and data privacy professionals expand their expertise in the areas of Privacy and Information Security.

The certification program offerings are from leading developers and taught live by BSI’s seasoned experts who have decades of real-world experience in the industry. Programs from IAPP, ISACA, (ISC)2 BCS, CSA, and EC Council are included, with courses covering a range of areas such as Certified Privacy Manager (CIPM), Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK), Certified Information Systems Security Professions (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).

Key benefits of BSI training include:

    • Professional certifications provide an organization and its employees a competitive advantage
    • Successful business professionals maintain a continuous thirst for knowledge which is key to a growing and thriving business
    • Providing personnel the opportunity to gain certification will help you retain your staff and prove your willingness to invest in your people
    • Having staff with these widely-recognized credentials provides credibility to your organization’s privacy and information security program and, as an added value, can be a differentiator when bidding for contracts

“What makes BSI’s training offerings in this field unique is not only are we one of the only certification bodies to offer this type of curriculum, but our experts actually teach the courses,” said Brian Bertacini, Associate Director, BSI. “The depth of knowledge in cybersecurity, information security, and privacy is an added value to the students.”

In the wake of the EU Court of Justice’s decision invalidating the EU-US Privacy Shield, adherence to GDPR requirements will be increasingly monitored. This judgment, along with the enforcement of similar legislation, such as CCPA, means that information security personnel must be even more vigilant in protecting the handling of customers’ personal information. Additional training and certifications will help ensure that.

BSI trains over 200,000 individuals every year across a broad spectrum of topics and was the first certification body to introduce live online training in 2015. A full list of BSI’s training courses can be found here.
