BSI and its National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) partners NPL and UKAS have been working with BEIS to look at the potential for standards to harness the potential of the fourth industrial revolution for the benefit of business and society.
Working at the invitation of Ministers following a 2019 government White Paper, the NQI partners have developed an action plan to enable their activities across standards, measurement, and accreditation to support innovation and technological change, proposing six actions around agile standards development, digitalisation of standards, stakeholder engagement, coordination between relevant bodies, awareness-raising, and policy-making.
