Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is an international language used on engineering drawings composed of symbols that facilitate accuracy and alignment in communicating geometry requirements. By ensuring alignment and uniformity in drawing specifications and interpretation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, the engineering community can minimize/eliminate controversies and assumptions across the manufacturing and inspection processes.

    How will i benefit?

You will be able to :
    • correctly identify and apply GD&T practices to parts and drawings
    • correctly interpret technical drawings
    • understand the inspection methods required to check part suitability
    • apply suitable tolerances to mating parts and features, and to ensure assembly fit and functionality
    • understand the allowable variation in finished part size, as compared to the idealized form/dimension

    • Upon completion of this training, delegates will be able to:
      • Understanding standard GD&T applications based on ANSI Y 14.5-1973, ANSI Y 14.5M – 1982 and ASME Y 14.5 -2009 & 2018
      • Interpret technical drawings appropriately
      • Converting product requirements to dimensional specifications
      • Making valid and accurate engineering calculations
      • Reducing the risk caused by vague specifications
      • Achieving savings from scrap avoidance due to wrong GD&T interpretation and application

    • This course is designed for individuals involve in the design, inspection, measurement and manufacturing of engineering parts/products which include but not limited to manufacturing engineers, designers, toolmakers, technicians and inspectors.

    • There are no formal prerequisites.

    • To qualify for the HRD Corp Claimable Course, your company must be registered with HRD Corp and comply with the grant requirements. We suggest consulting with your Human Resources team to confirm your eligibility and understand the application process. Once we receive your booking, our team will provide you with the necessary documents and further details to support your HRD Corp grant application.

    • On completion, you will be awarded an internationally recognized BSI Training Academy certificate.
