This first step on your auditor qualification journey covers the key components of the ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management Systems (EnMS) and will set you on the right track to becoming a qualified Internal Auditor Practitioner. Supported by expert BSI trainers, you’ll learn in an activity-based environment and share your experiences with other delegates.
The qualification is designed for anyone involved in the planning, implementation, maintaining, supervising or auditing of an ISO 50001 Energy Management System. Attendees will learn to apply and document internal audit activities, gain confidence in demonstrating energy performance improvements to your organization and prepare your organization for third-party audits of its EnMS.

ISO 50001:2018 Requirements (4 hours eLearning)
- Understand what an energy management system is and why it is important to an organization and its benefits
- Learn the background of ISO 50001:2018 and its intended outcome
- Understand the terms and definitions used as well as the key concepts and structure of ISO 50001:2018
- Gain an understanding of the main requirements of ISO 50001:2018
ISO 50001:2018 Internal Auditor (2 days classroom – in-person or virtual)
- Explain and apply the guidelines of management systems auditing according to ISO 19011:2018
- Explain the application of these guidelines to auditing ISO 50001:2018
- Demonstrate your ability to plan an internal audit of ISO 50001:2018
- Prepare internal audit activities
- Conduct and complete an internal audit
- Prepare and distribute the internal audit report
- Audit follow-up
Assessment
Each module is followed by a mandatory online multiple-choice examination. Delegates must pass the examination to be awarded the qualification.
Step 2: ISO 50001 Internal Auditor Professional qualification
After completing your Practitioner level qualification, why not undertake the next step and become an ISO 50001 Internal Auditor Professional qualification holder. Professional level takes you beyond conformity audits and develops your ability to audit improvement initiatives.

The final step on the Auditor qualification pathway provides the opportunity to get your Professional Auditor qualification certified. Demonstrating that you have applied everything that you have learned in practice and in your work.
