The adoption of a social management system (SMS) is intended to enable an
organization to build an engaged workforce and sustainable workplace; to meet the customers’ social compliance requirements and improves the control of supply chain.
The effectiveness of an organization’s social management system can evaluated against the requirements of the SA 8000 standard and applicable national legislation by means of an audit. A competently conducted internal audit can help to improve social performance and identify opportunities for improvement in social management system.
This course develops the necessary skills to assess and report on the conformance and effectiveness of its implementation based on SA 8000. You’ll learn how to initiate an audit, prepare and conduct audit activities, compile and distribute audit reports and complete follow-up activities.

Prerequisites
It is recommended that participants have knowledge of the SA8000 standard and local regulations on labour and the employment acts prior to attendance of this course. If not, we strongly recommend you attend our SA 8000 Requirements training course.
