    This two-day course explains why the UK government has adopted ‘Collaborative BIM’ to reduce waste in construction and asset management. It will help you to understand BIM from different perspectives and in different contexts, in line with BS EN ISO 19650.

    If you’re a construction or asset management professional, this course will help you to adopt UK BIM implementation. You’ll learn the terminology relating to BIM and gain an understanding of the ‘Information Delivery Cycle’ in line with ISO 19650-1.

    Choose to learn live online or in person in a classroom. By the end of this step on your learning journey, you’ll understand the importance of BIM implementation, related roles and responsibilities and the next steps to take to put it all into practice.

    • You will learn about:

      • Basic principles and benefits of BIM
      • Government aims to achieve Level 2 BIM by 2016
      • Relevant British Standards and supporting documentation that align to delivering projects to achieve Level 2 BIM
      • Value of information and how it should be managed, delivered and used through the capital, delivery and occupation phases of a project
      • BIM as a determining factor on delivering projects on time, without waste and inefficiencies.
    • Anyone involved in the design, construction and project management (including specialist subcontractors and clients) of BIM activities.

    • There are no formal prerequisites but delegates will benefit from reading the Level 2 BIM suite of documents before attending the course.

    • To qualify for the HRD Corp Claimable Course, your company must be registered with HRD Corp and comply with the grant requirements. We suggest consulting with your Human Resources team to confirm your eligibility and understand the application process. Once we receive your booking, our team will provide you with the necessary documents and further details to support your HRD Corp grant application.

    • On completion, you will be awarded an internationally recognized BSI Training Academy certificate.

    • This course forms part of our auditor qualification programme, which will give you a BSI Mark of Trust, reassuring your customers and suppliers that your skills have been validated.
