BSI raises £15,000 for Crisis to help move people out of homelessness

BSI, the business improvement company has raised around £15,000 for Crisis, the national charity for homeless people. BSI started working with Crisis in September 2019 donating £10 for every delegate training course booked over a three-month period, which raised £12,820 for Crisis.

Other fundraising activities included BSI employees across the business donating 945 items of warm clothing. The clothes were delivered to homeless people living in the Milton Keynes area by a team of BSI employees and the organization donated £945 to match the number of items donated. Other activities included a bake sale, personalized Christmas cards to employee’s children from ‘Santa’, a quiz and donation pots situated around BSI’s building on Kitemark Court in Knowlhill.

A number of BSI employees also provided support to Crisis by volunteering. Every employee is entitled to spend a day giving back to the local community, so the BSI Training team spent their volunteer day helping at the Crisis warehouse. The warehouse is used to distribute supplies to Crisis’ Christmas centres, which provide vital services to thousands of people at one of the hardest times of the year.

Chris Wright, Commercial Training Director at BSI said, “We are extremely proud of everyone at BSI who has been involved with fundraising for Crisis to help tackle one of the most important problems facing so many people in the UK today. We all see for ourselves the devastation homelessness causes, so it’s fantastic that BSI has provided support to Crisis to help fund the move of people into secure, safe housing and employment.”

Mayaz Rahman, Head of Partnerships at Crisis said, “Our work is only possible because of the generosity of supporters like BSI, who donate vital funds, skills and resources, and share our determination to make sure everyone has a safe and stable home. We’re delighted to have worked with BSI in 2019 and would like to thank them for their support.”
