It is estimated that there are 49.5 million victims of modern slavery, right now, and the range of exploitative practices relating to this exists worldwide. 56% of modern slavery victims are in what is termed, forced labour, the vast majority of which are associated with manufacturing supply chains, for products we, as consumers, use every day.
Organizations of all sizes, sectors, and activities can cause, contribute, or be linked to modern slavery practices through their activities and business relationships.
This on-demand training course, in line with the standard, aims to educate, guide and encourage organizations in the awareness and management of modern slavery risks towards meaningful efforts to address this problem, both in policy and in practice.
While awareness training and ‘spot the signs’ advice is available, it is important that those who wish to use this standard have access to quality basic training to support their knowledge and understanding in modern slavery and its potential impacts and links to their organization, roles and business networks, to contextualize the actions and recommendations given in the standard.
