Learn what it means to be a purpose-driven organization
What’s happened and why?
There’s a growing imperative for organizations to reassess how – and in essence, why – they do business. And also to factor in the increasingly urgent needs of people and planet so these are at the heart of strategy and operations and become the true measure of success. PAS 808:2022 is a new guidance document setting out what it means to be a purpose-driven organization in practice.
What does PAS 808:2022 cover?
It gives guidance to governing bodies and executive managers on what purpose is, how a purpose-driven organization (PDO) approaches decisions, and how it acts. It outlines the worldviews, principles and the associated behaviours and activities of a PDO and establishes common terms and definitions related to purpose.
Why use PAS 808:2022?
- It helps organizations develop their understanding of the worldviews, principles and behaviours of a successful purpose-driven organization (PDO) in the context of their organization becoming one
- It provides the basis for an organization to develop its own strategies and approaches to enact and embed purpose in their policies, processes, practices, products, services and value networks
- It provides the basis for aligning purpose with decision-making across the organization
- It can form the basis of accountability for an organization and help policymakers, regulators and other stakeholders diagnose how far they’re supporting or hindering organizations to become successful PDOs
