David joined BSI in 2017 and is responsible for BSI's Digital Trust Assurance solutions: training, testing, assessing, and certifying for ICT Governance, Risk Management, Cybersecurity and Privacy, Digital Supply Chain, Data Stewardship and Artificial Intelligence. He supports BSI clients across the key sectors of Built Environment, Healthcare, Food, Mobility, ICT, Energy and Manufacturing in the safe and effective adoption of disruptive digital technologies.

Originally training as electronics engineer with the British Broadcasting Company, David then served as an Engineering Officer in the Royal Air Force, specializing in electronic warfare.  Subsequently, David has delivered secure IT projects for UK Ministry of Defence, managed development of telecommunications laser systems and micro-electronics manufacturing equipment, moving into LED Lighting in 2007.  Managing high-performance LED systems for architectural, TV/Film and medical applications, led to into “smart lighting” and “smart homes/buildings” incorporating IoT technology.  David then directed sales and provided consultancy for lighting and IoT.

Col Sunil Kapila is a subject matter expert in Business Resilience, Data Privacy, and Protection.  He specializes in the implementation of Cyber Security Training Programs. He is an expert in exploring new technologies and tinkering with emerging tech implementation of AI, ML, Internet of Things and Cloud.  He carries over 35+ years of experience in Cyber Crime Investigation, Governance, Resilience Operations, Risk Management Threat Intelligence with stints as Vice President of Engineering, Head Security Solutions with brands like Tata Advanced Systems, and Wipro Technologies. He has led multiple training for law enforcement agencies, including the Narcotics Control Bureau, Director of Revenue Intelligence, Financial Intelligence Units, and UNODC.
