Despite being the world’s second largest casting manufacturer, India lags when it comes to the final quality of the products. This gap is more visible when we realize that only a few MSME and large-scale foundries are qualified to export their products to markets like EU, UK, Australia and US. India with its huge potential should compete with others and secure its deserved position as a quality manufacturing hub. For that, a comprehensive revamp is required in the design and production quality. The same message was repeatedly conveyed by prominent casting buyers in the recently concluded IFEX Congress 2022 at Gandhinagar.
Being a purpose driven global organization, BSI is very keen to raise the benchmark of the Indian foundry industry. We envisage to realize this goal by sharing best practices and our century long expertise in publishing standards and certification. In this journey, BSI will also complement the Indian government’s pet projects like “Make in India” and “Skill India”.
This live session was conducted by BSI in partnership with The Institute of Indian Foundrymen and EEPC India.
