Course Aim: Provide knowledge and skills required to perform first, second and third party audits of BRCGS, food safety management systems (FSMS) against ISO 22000, in accordance with ISO 19011
Course Description: Gain the confidence to effectively audit a FSMS in accordance with internationally recognized best practice techniques or demonstrate your commitment to food safety by transforming existing auditor skills to ISO 19011(Including ISO/IEC 17021, as applicable).
You’ll grasp the key principles and practices of effective product safety managment audits in line with ISO 19011 ‘Guidelines for auditing management systems’.
Over two days, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills required to undertake and lead a successful food safety management systems audit; using a step-by-step approach, you’ll be guided through the entire audit process from initiation to follow-up.
Learn to describe the purpose of an ISO 19011 audit and satisfy third party certification as well as grasp the key principles and practices of effective food safety management system audits in accordance with BRCGS Food Issue 8.
Acquire the skills to plan, conduct, report and follow up a FSMS/BRCGS audit that establishes conformity, enhances food safety compliance, and overall organizational performance.

Who should attend?
Anyone with the need to audit an organization’s FSMS, BRCGS.
Prerequisites: You should have a good knowledge BRCGS or FSSC (GFSI) of and the key principles of a ISO 19011.
We also recommend a prior knowledge of the following principles and concepts:
- Implementing or operating a management system within a food sector context. This includes private schemes such as HACCP, BRC, FSSC and/or other GFSI approved schemes which include management system components.
- Relevant key food safety legislation (this may be specific to delegates’ food industry context and location).
- Knowledge of ISO 19011.
The principles of HACCP as defined by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.

Notes:
- This training content will be delivered via BSI’s Connected Learning Live Platform as a virtual classroom with the BSI tutor. This will provide the delegate with the flexibility of attending it from the convenience of home or office, without travelling to BSI facility. A stable internet connection, headset with USB connection, a quiet and suitable work area. In advance of the training a ‘testing room’ will be provided for delegates to confirm their hardware works and that they can fully participate in the training.
- Examination will be conducted online via an e-assessment platform 'Questionmark'. Invigilation will be done through delegate’s webcam and microphone.
