The annual general meeting provides the board with an opportunity to communicate with, and answer questions from subscribing members. The annual general meeting notice and related papers are posted to shareholders at least 21 days before the date of the meeting to ensure that members have sufficient time to consider the items of business.
At the meeting presentations are provided on BSI’s activities over the previous financial year and its prospects for the future, as well as on standards development and promotional activities. The company counts all proxy votes and indicates at the annual general meeting the proxies lodged on each resolution where they have been dealt with on a show of hands.
