AS9100 for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs)
AS9100 has just as big an impact on small companies as larger organizations. And the benefits are equal too. Quality management for the aerospace industry introduces world-class practices to SMEs – standardizing the way you work. And this can help you become a more reliable and stronger competitor. AS9100 will also help you meet legal, customer and supplier expectations.
Shaping AS9100 for SMEs
Small businesses that invest in AS9100 (BS EN 9100) can get better results than those that don’t – especially when competing with larger companies. We know that you may have tighter budgets and less time to put quality management first. That’s why we provide packages that can be customized to include only the services you need – removing the unnecessary cost and complexity of achieving AS9100. We can help you to cut out costly inefficiencies, reduce risk and raise operational standards. You’ll also meet legal requirements and secure your licence to trade. AS9100 will give your business big company status, helping you master quality management, continually improve and tap into international growth opportunities.
Help us to shape standards
We’re open to suggestions for new standards and take these to consultation with industry associations or equivalent organizations. We make sure we get the standards right by working with representatives from consumer organizations; professional institutions; certification, testing and inspection bodies; educational establishments; research organizations; UK notified bodies; enforcement bodies; and government departments.

How our BSI verification works
The PAS 2060 standard specifies a four-stage process to demonstrate carbon neutrality. This involves:
- Assessment of GHG emissions based on accurate measurement data
- Reduction of emissions through a target-driven carbon management plan
- Offsetting of excess emissions, often by purchasing carbon credits
- Documentation and verification through qualifying explanatory statements and public disclosure.
Through independent BSI verification to PAS 2060, your business can demonstrate that it has met these requirements. You can show you are serious about sustainability, responding to the challenge of climate change and contributing to the UNSDGs, while enhancing your organization’s performance and resilience.
