Research is underway by CEBR, the organization that conducted a study into the impact of standards on the UK economy in 2015. The research will estimate the impact of International Standards on the Chinese economy and on selected sectors or regions. The research will cover not only economic impact but also investigate the social impact of standards, and their effects on individual companies.
The results of the research can provide motivation for Chinese standards’ policymakers to consider increasing the rate of adoption of international standards. The research complements the pilot projects under the Programme by highlighting the benefits of using specific International Standards in specific sectors.
The research will feature specific examples and case studies that can be used to increase the adoption and implementation of International Standards in China.
