Kenya
In partnership with the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy KE, in February 2023 we ran the four-day capacity building training to lead practitoners from key organisations in the Kenya digital ecosytem.
All participants rated the training positively and found it informative and engaging, with one particpant commenting:
"From the knowledge acquired, I will be able to enhance my organizations digital trust by adopting and implementing the relevant standards."
The training followed a policy roundtable discussion with senior policymakers in June 2022, which highlighted the role of international standards as a tool for building trust and the need for capacity building to bolster the digital economy.
A commitment was made to include a strategic focus on standards and capacity building in the recommendations of the Kenya eTReady and the National E-commerce Strategy.
We are continuing our work with KEBS, evolving the programme to meet their individual needs.
