Andrew is a Tutor for BSI’s UK Training Academy, specialising in Lean Six Sigma, the management of Change and Quality Management Systems. He has wide experience of operational excellence programme design and consulting, as well as the development and delivery of associated training interventions.
Andrew started his career in academic and commercial research, where his role included the management of multi-national technology development programmes.
Operational Excellence then became the focus of his interest, where he has held various roles associated with leading, consulting, supporting and training organisations in improvement techniques.
Andrew joined BSI in 2007 as a Business Improvement Manager and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. He has in-depth knowledge of operational excellence techniques, quality management and auditing and is a qualified BSI Auditor.
Andrew has knowledge of the following management system standards: ISO 9001, ISO 18404, ISO 13053, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
Work experience highlights
• BSI Principal Consultant / Operational Excellence Tutor - focussed on Lean Six Sigma, Change and Quality Management. Qualified BSI ISO 9001 Auditor
• Andrew was awarded a PhD for work in developing novel organic materials for display devices. Further to this he worked as part of, eventually managing, a £5M Anglo-Japanese programme that proved the efficacy of large area HDTV LCD technology.
• Andrew gained an MBA whilst developing Project and Change Management skills as a Six Sigma Black Belt generating >£200K in one year
• Andrew, has over the last 19 years, supported numerous organisational improvement programmes, including those of Airbus, BAT Ltd., BNG (Sellafield) Ltd., British Telecom, Capita, Emaar, GE, Gillette, Google, Jaguar Land Rover, Renault Nissan, UK Gov. and Vestas
