PAS 7100 and PAS 7050 give recommendations on processes, procedures and responsibilities
The government and BSI are committed to protecting consumers from unsafe products. The UK’s product safety system requires businesses, government, regulators and consumers to all play important roles in keeping everyone safe.
We want to ensure that not only are consumers protected from unsafe products, but that they have confidence in the products they buy and in businesses’ processes and preparedness to deal with any product safety issue should it arise.
PAS 7100:2022 supports businesses in preparing for and dealing with product recall or other corrective action, and focuses on the development of a product safety incident plan (PSIP), which forms part of a product safety management plan (PSMP) as outlined in PAS 7050:2022.
The new PAS 7050 aims to support businesses and regulators in meeting relevant legal duties relating to placing safe products on the market. This PAS provides a set of recommendations, guidelines and examples of good practice.
