21 August 2024 – New scholarships have been awarded to students at the University of Edinburgh to support them through their Artificial Intelligence (AI) studies. The scholarships have been offered to students by BSI as part of a partnership with the University to support them in becoming the AI experts of the future.
As part of the AI Talent Academy scheme, five scholarships have been offered to students attending the University of Edinburgh. Scholarships will cover the complete cost of tuition fees and pay towards living expenses, and have been awarded to students beginning the Edinburgh Futures Institute’s Masters in AI and Data Ethics, as well as Undergraduate AI related courses in Computer Science and Cognitive Science commencing in September 2024.
Three of the AI scholarships have been offered to Undergraduate students from Black African and Caribbean heritage applicants from socio-economically challenged backgrounds as part of the University’s partnership with the Cowrie Scholarship Foundation (CSF). The Academy, which is being championed by business improvement and standard company BSI’s Regulatory Services division, will also provide the opportunity for all five students to join BSI once they graduate.
The AI Talent Academy was launched at an event at the University of Edinburgh bringing AI experts from both parties together, as well as representatives from the Cowrie Scholarship Foundation.
