We work with many different industries, businesses, governments and consumers to develop British, European and international standards. 

Knowledge sits at the core of every successful business and using British Standards  knowledge will lead to even greater success.

This is how we manage our relationships with other standards bodies across the world, as well as central and local government departments.  It also manages the activities of the NSB.

All standards impact the public directly or indirectly even though most are developed to meet business and industry needs.

Choose from the many ways to get involved: join a committee to help develop standards; become a BSI author or consumer representative; or comment on a draft publication.  

Committee members get complementary training across many technical and specialist areas – giving you the expertise to produce world-class standards.  

The Standards Policy and Strategy Committee (SPSC) is appointed by and ultimately reports to the BSI Board.
