BSI, supported by the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV), is leading the development of an industry-led standards programme to accelerate the deployment of automated vehicles.
BSI is a consortium partner of Project Endeavour, part-funded by the UK Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) and delivered in partnership with Innovate UK, to support the safe and secure trialling and development testing of automated and autonomous vehicles on our roads and on test tracks.
BSI is also working closely with government to support and lead the roll out of an Energy Smart Appliances (ESA) programme of work in relation to electric vehicle charge points, focusing on grid stability, cyber security, interoperability and data privacy.
Additionally we are engaged in The Faraday Challenge, part of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, covering battery development for the electrification of transport.
And we undertake work with leading car manufacturers in the ergonomic design of future fully autonomous vehicles.
But of course future mobility devices require appropriate city and road infrastructure. Smart and sustainable city standards are being written through BSI, addressing urban challenges and creating common markets.
