I discovered my love for people development in fashion retail, facilitating workshops for branch managers in underground rooms beneath busy high street stores. Nothing could beat a face-to-face training event, people travelling for miles to meet, learn, and share ideas over a sandwich platter.
Much has changed since then in my world – after building my career in L&D, I now work with the highly specialist tutor team at BSI. Their purpose is to enable people to be better equipped to excel by embedding world-class knowledge and best practice, and I work with our clients to formulate learning solutions that align with business objectives.
Something that hadn’t changed in the world of learning (until now) was that despite often having the technology at our fingertips to facilitate our workshops virtually, the natural preference was always to offer face to face events. At BSI, our consistent and very high feedback scores told us that this was our niche.
With the 2020 pandemic becoming a reality, the BSI team moved fast to convert all our courses and by mid-April, all our tutors were facilitating learning in interactive virtual classrooms, via Connected Learning Live. Now, we are finding that initial uncertainty from our clients about transitioning to virtual learning is transforming into an appetite for our virtual classroom solutions.
