CIMIC: first Australasian company to achieve BIM Kitemark

CIMIC Group companies, CPB Contractors, Leighton Asia, UGL, Sedgman, Pacific Partnerships and EIC Activities, are the first Australasian companies to achieve BSI Kitemark certification for excellence in Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Design and Construction from the business standards leader, BSI Group.

BIM, an increasingly important part of the global construction market place, is a collaborative way of working that uses digital technologies to enable more efficient methods of design and construction. BIM is considered invaluable to the delivery of a construction project as it provides a common single and coordinated source of structured information throughout the lifecycle of a project. It can deliver significant cost savings and efficiencies both during the design/construction and handover stages. The BSI Kitemark for Design and Construction provides independent and impartial evidence that companies are delivering BIM projects against internationally recognized standards.

To achieve Kitemark certification CIMIC Group went through an onsite audit by BSI experts to assess their delivery of projects to contract requirements, measurement and monitoring of client satisfaction against projects, and the management of their supply chain.
