National Bank of Egypt has achieved the certification to Information Security ISO/IEC 27001:2013
National Bank of Egypt announced that it has been awarded the ISO 27001 certification for its customer call center from BSI the British Standards Institution.
The announcement was made in a ceremony held at the bank premises and attended by NBE Chairman, Mr. Hisham Okasha and the Bank Executives.
Colin Rushmere, MEA Compliance & Risk Director at the British Standards Institution (BSI) along with Dr. Mohamed Aboul Fadl from BSI Egypt presented the certificate to Hisham Okasha, NBE chairman and expressed their appreciation of the bank's efforts to secure its data.
"NBE is always committed to protect customer data and its confidentiality. We have implemented an information security management system for our call center at the same time we were implementing our new core and internet banking systems because we believe the right information security measures must go hand in hand with technology innovation to protect against threats related to technology in today’s world," Mr. Okasha said.
Abeer Khedr, NBE Information Security Director, added: "With the effort of NBE teams, especially call center, IT, HR, operational risk & audit teams, we successfully put in place an effective information security management system and have provided the necessary security awareness training to all call center agents to ensure they are fully aware of information security policies and can identify and properly react to threats.”
Earlier this year also , National Bank of Egypt, successfully maintained for the fourth year consecutively, its PCI Data Security Standard certification for securing its cardholder data . NBE has been also awarded ISO 27001 certification for its main data center last year.
