According to the World Health Organization the road traffic accidents worldwide reaches a staggering 1.3 million deaths each year and 50 million serious injuries every year. Certification to ISO 39001, the standard for Road Traffic Safety provides a best-practice management framework that helps organizations actively reduce the risk of serious injury and death from road traffic in areas directly within their sphere of influence. To become certified a company must design its own road traffic safety framework, by identifying threats to road traffic safety and then design and implement a robust plan to overcome the particular road safety challenges they face.
Ahmad Al Khatib – General Manager, Assurance for BSI Middle East and Africa, offered his ‘congratulations to the Senior Management Team and all staff involved in this project on fulfilling the requirements of this certification and demonstrating that it is working according to recognized best practices’.
