We aspire to create an inclusive and engaging work environment that enables everyone to thrive as individuals, do their best work and contribute to the delivery of our purpose, “to inspire trust for a more resilient world”. As we begin our journey in contributing towards reconciliation, our vision will need to be informed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our Reflect RAP

The launch of BSI's first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is an important first step for us on a journey towards more mutually beneficial and respectful relationships with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Endorsed by Reconciliation Australia, our Reflect RAP supports the attainment of reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It includes practical steps with clear goals and timelines, to hold ourselves accountable for the achievement of the actions under our RAP.

We look forward to working with our staff and partners to deliver on our RAP commitments while recognizing and celebrating the central role of Australia’s traditional owners in our past, present and future.

To bring our RAP to life and help tell the story of our reconciliation journey, we engaged Jasmine Sarin a proud Kamilaroi and Jerrinja woman and artist from New South Wales. Her style combines contemporary methods and concepts of the oldest culture on earth. We are thrilled to be the recipients of this artwork that now takes pride of place at our BSI office in Sydney. The artwork developed by Jasmine has been used as inspiration throughout our Reconciliation Action Plan.

What is a reconciliation action plan (RAP)?

A RAP uses the framework set out by Reconciliation Australia to provide a structured approach to advance reconciliation. It is a strategic document that includes practical actions that drive our contribution to reconciliation and in alignment with BSI’s business plan.

RAP Working Group

In 2021, a RAP Working Group was established. This group will govern the RAP implementation to ensure its actions are completed.

Our RAP is championed by our Chief Operating Officer and our RAP Working Group contains members of our Australian leadership team and other employees based across Australia.
